It is located 50 kilometers east of Rancagua, capital of the sixth region of O'Higgins. The landscape of the nature reserve it’s characteristic of the pre-mountain zone, it is made mainly of the drawer of the Cipreses river: A long and narrow valley, surrounded by peaks which goes between 3000 and 4900 mts above the sea level, the Palomo volcano.
The flora of the reserve is as rich and attractive as its fauna. In the valley of the Cipreses river, there are some forests made up of Peumo, quillai and liters, species that generate the required conditions for the environment, reproduction and protection of the Tricahue parrot. In the area called Urriola, of medium height, there are little forests of mountain cipres, species of great beauty and longevity.
Important historical remains, archaeological and anthropological given mainly by ancient petroglyphs and old buildings are one of the most attractive places of the reserve. The Piedra del Indio, Carrizal, Coton, Water of Life and the corner of the Guanaco, are some of the places where these petroglyphscan be found.
There are many places in the reserves that are worth to meet: mountains, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, glaciers and drawers, are the main menu. As dishes ... the "loreras", places where the Tricahue parrots nest, are very attractive. The path "The Peumo," located in the area of "Ranchillo" will takes you through little forests, trace of mining activity and waterfalls.

This is going to be a long day, after a nutritious breakfast, we will go toward the Urriola area, where it is located the long-lives Cipreses forests of the mountain. Getting there implies a walk through the drawer of Cipreses river and also through the "Piedra del Indio" place of great archaeological value, covering puma’s territory and looking at the wonders of a wild and rugged landscape. Under the forest we will set up our camp, located in an unique place and here it is where we will enjoy a great barbeque, a good glass of wine and the silence of the nature.
Bajo el bosque emplazaremos nuestro campamento en un lugar único, y es aquí donde disfrutaremos de un delicioso asado, una buena copa de vino y el silencio de la naturaleza.
